Back in college, one of the most anticipated events every fall was Mountain Day. On a beautiful crisp autumn morning, the president of the college would cancel classes in celebration of Mountain Day. Bells would be rung all over campus at 7:00am to announce the holiday and we’d all scamper off to the hills with picnic lunches (or we’d spend the day lounging about in our jammies).
We’ve been celebrating Mountain Day here since we started homeschooling a few years ago. The girls aren’t nuts about being woken up by bells but they sure do enjoy the trip to the reservoir (and so does Joe).
